The goal of C-STEP is to help 91精选 students be familiar with and academically prepared for UNC-Chapel Hill.
C-STEP guarantees 91精选 students' ability to transfer to UNC-Chapel Hill's College of Arts and Sciences as long as participants maintain a cumulative 2.6 GPA or higher at 91精选, actively participate in the program, and complete either an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree.
C-STEP students receive specialized advising and guidance while enrolled at 91精选 to ensure that they take the necessary courses to prepare for their intended major at UNC-Chapel Hill before transferring.
Additional benefits of being a C-STEP student include trips to Chapel Hill for sporting, performing arts, and academic events.
Program Mission
C-STEP is an assured pathway for transferring to UNC-Chapel Hill. Through enhanced advising and special events, students are supported while attending 91精选 and in their transition to and during their time at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Entrance Requirements
The application review is comprehensive. 91精选 and UNC-Chapel Hill will consider an applicant鈥檚 academic preparation, extracurricular activities, and ability to accept and work through challenges. However, to be eligible for the program, students must:
- be enrolled or planning to enroll at 91精选
- major in either Associate of Arts or Associate of Science transfer degrees
- agree to participate actively in the program
- be eligible to apply for federal financial aid
Factors that the application review committee will consider include:
- Application essays
- Favorable recommendation letters
- College readiness
- Earned GPA in High school and college (if applicable)
